The course is an introduction to techniques of spatial representation and is divided into a theoretical and a practical part.

There will be a series of lectures treating subjects like

the evolution of the technical drawing until today

the plurality of uses and forms of technical drawings

the utility of the technical drawing in diverse industries

The practical part will be a series of tutorials during which the students are to learn the drawing-program Rhinoceros. Under supervision they will experience step by step the process of 2D drawing, 3D modeling, lighting, texturing and rendering.

At home, the students will work independently on drawings and models of the Akademie der Künste in Berlin.

The goal of the course id for the students to familiarise with spatial and digital representation techniques, for them to be able to produce 2D technical drawings as well as simple 3D models of rooms and objects ready to render.
